Group Class Schedule
GROUP DOG TRAINING CLASSES
High Country Dogs will be offering beginning skijoring classes at the Devil’s Thumb Ranch, Vail and Frisco nordic centers during the winter of 2018. Please see below for schedules and information.
The two hour beginning classes cover everything you need to know to get started in this wonderful winter sport: Basics of skijoring, skijor equipment, how to care for your dog in the winter and much more. The first part of each class is an indoor seminar followed by ample time for on snow practice. Emphasis is on safety, teamwork and fun for you and your dog.
Dogs must be at least one year old and be able to function safely and peacefully in a group of other people and dogs.
Humans MUST have previous experience on cross country skis and be able to comfortably ski a green/blue cross country ski trail, to turn and to stop. The better skier you are, the easier it will be for your dog to learn this sport.
